Since its establishment in 1975, Central Pacific Trading Co. has been engaged in the wholesale and export of Japanese tiles for over 50 years.
In addition to overseas distributors, we have worked closely with interior designers, architects, and home builders. By listening to the needs of professionals in the field, we have consistently provided tile products tailored to a wide range of project requirements.

Our regular inventory alone includes nearly 500 products, making our selection one of the largest among Japanese tile exporters. This extensive lineup allows us to propose suitable tiles tailored to different applications and design preferences.
Tile Development Rooted
in Japanese Tradition
In addition to exporting existing tile products, we also collaborate with more than 20 Japanese tile manufacturers, designers, and domestic trading companies to develop a wide variety of tile products.
Our partners include manufacturers specializing in mosaic tiles, textured and three-dimensional tile designs, advanced glazing techniques, and handmade tiles. By leveraging the technologies and strengths cultivated by each company, we have built a flexible development network capable of responding to the diverse needs of different regions, applications, and construction methods.
Even if a suitable product cannot be found among existing items, we can develop new tile products optimized for your specific application and usage environment.
Product Development Process
From simple modifications to existing products—such as changes in color or shape—to the development of fully original tiles including concept design, we provide flexible development services tailored to your project needs.
For Original Tile Development
When developing a tile product from scratch, the process generally requires at least six months to complete.
While it takes time, this approach allows us to create a truly original tile that is unique to your project.
Planning
& Concept Development(1–2 weeks or more)
In this stage, we determine how and where the tile will be used. Considering the intended environment—such as residential, commercial, or outdoor applications—we define the overall direction of the product while taking into account the desired texture, color, and size.
Design
& Specification Review(1–2 weeks or more)
Based on the concept, we examine the specific design and technical specifications of the tile. This includes adjustments to the shape, glaze finish, and size, balancing both aesthetics and functionality.
Depending on the intended use, installation methods and ease of tile layout are also reviewed at this stage.
Prototyping
& Sample Production(Approx. 1.5 months or more)
Based on the finalized specifications, prototype samples are produced. The tiles are fired to evaluate the actual color and texture. If necessary, the glaze formulation is fine-tuned to bring the product closer to the customer’s vision.
Mold Development(Approx. 2 months or more)
If a new tile shape is required rather than an existing one, a test mold is created prior to sample production. After confirming samples produced using the test mold, the final production molds—such as those for pressing or slip casting—are then manufactured.
The cost of mold production may be borne fully or partially by the customer.
Order, Production
& Quality Inspection(Approx. 3.5 months or more)
Once the specifications are finalized, production begins after the order is placed and the glaze formulation and raw materials are prepared.
During the production process and prior to shipment, quality inspections are conducted to ensure that the tiles meet required standards, including checks for color variation, dimensional consistency, and overall product quality.
Export & Delivery
After inspection and any necessary processing are completed, the finished tile products are shipped to the designated destination via ocean freight or air freight.

We manage all aspects of international transactions, including order placement, coordination with manufacturers, delivery schedule management, and export arrangements.
For existing products, we also work closely with overseas distributors, particularly in the United States, enabling us to supply tile products quickly and efficiently. By carefully managing inventory procurement based on sales trends and market demand, we ensure a stable supply and support long-term business relationships with our partners.
